THE KICKOFF OF THE 2024 INDYCAR SEASON.
Pato O’ward wins the first race of the 2024 NTT Indycar Season.
The kickoff to the 2024 NTT Indycar season was a hot one, Team Penske looked strong throughout the weekend. Scott McGlaughlin and Josef Newgarden held the top spots throughout qualifying and practice. Favorites and past winners Scott Dixon and Graham Rahal looked to start their seasons off on the right note. New faces in new rides Meyer- Shank Racing and Arrow McLaren Racing looked to level up their competiton with fresh talent such as Felix Rosenquist ,Tom Bloomquist from the sportscar world as well as Alexander Rossi taking over in his new Arrow Mclaren powered chevy. Can never count out the drivers from the powerhouse teams such as Colton Herta and his Adretti Autosport teammates along with new teammate and past Indy 500 Champion Marcus Ericsson. Josef Newgarden was able to hold off the late charge from multiple drivers Oward and McGlaughlin to take the win.( Win was later disqualified due to a part on the racecar and was awarded to the Patricio O’Ward.)
Other highlights on the weekend were in the support series. Indy NXT had some serious competition with new upcomers, Miles Rowe in his Penske lights car and Jamie Chadwick in her Andretti Autosports entry.
If the first race is just a taste we should be in for a extremely competitive season with all the drivers and teams just mere seconds off the race winning pace.
